ROADHOUSE AMERICANA - Layla & othe love songs

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 8

Roadhouse Americana presents: “Layla & Other Assorted Love Songs – A Tribute”

Join Roadhouse Americana and special guest Adelaide blues legend Chris Finnen for an unforgettable night celebrating Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs — the 1970 masterpiece by Derek and the Dominos. Driven by the fiery guitars of Eric Clapton and Duane Allman, the album fused blues, soul, and southern rock into timeless songs of love, heartbreak, and redemption.

Experience classics like Bell Bottom Blues, Key to the Highway, Have You Ever Loved a Woman, Little Wing, and the iconic Layla, performed with triple guitars, twin drummers, rich harmonies, and Roadhouse Americana’s signature rootsy feel.

The Layla legacy lives on through the Tedeschi Trucks Band’s stunning Layla Revisited (Live at Lockn’) — and this tribute keeps that spirit alive right here in Adelaide.

8-BALL AITKEN & TAYA CHANI

8 Ball Aitken & Taya Chani are heavyweights of the Australian blues-rock-soul scene and have teamed up with a new album project ‘Nightbird’.
The first single and title-track ‘Nightbird’ immediately hit #1 on the Australian AMRAP Regional Charts in March 2025 for two weeks in a row as did their second single ‘Miss You The Most’ in May. This is proving to be a winning combination.
8 Ball & Taya are embarking on their second national tour over the autumn months and playing the Semaphore Workers Club on Friday 7th November (PUT IT IN YOUR DIARY AND BUY A TICKET!)

If you don’t know them:
8-Ball has toured the world for more than a decade performing across twenty countries to date. 8 Ball moved to Nashville, Tennessee, USA in 2012 and worked for nine years with many of the best in the blues and roots business today. As well a s a collection of Australian music industry awards he acheived second place in the 2021 International Cigar Box Guitar Festival – New Orleans.
Taya is a Sydney based soul singer releasing her debut album 'Restless Heart' in 2019 with widespread airplay and rave reviews.
8 Ball and Taya’s mutual love for Southern American music, blues, country, soul and fancy jazz chords brought them together. In 2023, the duo released their first collaboration, ‘Only Guiding Light’ from album ‘Ice Cream Man 2’ that both hit #1 on the Australian Blues & Roots Charts. While on their first Australian tour in 2022, they began cowriting songs, realising they had an album worth of songs and set a studio date. The cast of musicians on the new ‘Nightbird’ album include USA saxophone legend Buddy Leach (George Thorogood & The Destroyers), drummer extraordinaire Declan Kelly, and 8 Ball’s younger brother Dillion James Aitken on keys.

StoneHutt

StoneHutt  music is founded on the passion and experience of a group of talented songwriters, musicians, and friends from the deep south of the island continent (Kaurna country / Adelaide).   StoneHutt plays an original and unique blend of honest rock, folk rock, and alt country with lashings of fine vocals and harmonies. The songs are stories from city streets, prints on riverbeds, carvings in the trees, graffiti on the walls, boots on the road, and records of time and place. The songs reflect the musical and social landscape of the times.

StoneHutt’s newly released debut album ‘Watershed’  is garnering strong support nationally from critics, audiences, and community radio networks. Watershed was produced by ARIA award winning guru Matt Fell, and recorded at Wilder Studios in Tasmania, and mastered by Grammy Award winner William Bowden.

GEOFF ACHISON & THE BEINKE BROTHERS

Back in early May we had the Beinke Brothers Band playthe Red Stage - with the bonus of Geoff Achison.

Well they are back!

Geoff is an internationally renowned guitarist/singer/songwriter who first came to prominence playing incendiary lead guitar with Aussie blues legend ‘Dutch’ Tilders, before striking out on his own with his all-star group ‘The Souldiggers’.

He then established himself as a formidable solo act on acoustic guitar.

Recently, in 2023, Geoff joined 70’s hitmakers ‘STARS’ on lead guitar, contributing a tasty solo on their single ‘One More Try’, and featuring on the ‘live’ album ‘Paradise.

It’s a big CV.

The Beinke Bros Band is made up of blokes from the Eyre Peninsula - they are a great export to the Adelaide music scene.

Playing a unique blend of rich, jammy blues/country/rock'n'roll you get the mainstay of (talented Beinkes) Leo, John and Rob plus Craig Fraser on drums.

This is an event which we think you will love.
